My birth defined me, I wasn’t suppose to be here, I was a surprise.

Have you ever thought that your birth could have an effect on your defining pathways?

I was born a twin, but an unexpected one. My mum gave birth to my sister on the kitchen table. She was baking mince pies, it was three days before Christmas, and my granny had called the midwife, knowing mum was possibly in labour. When my sister arrived the midwife very quickly discovered that a second baby was still to be delivered. I was born in mums bedroom. The story told was the doctor came and said to dad, he wasn’t sure he could save both of us.

I survived, my mum was very ill but we both pulled through the trauma of it all. I feel that I have been dealing with survival all my life, knowing how to hang on when trauma hits.

Mum thought about giving me away to the next door neighbour who couldn’t have a child of her own, but I survived that and she didn’t.

My creativity, has been with me all my life. In this podcast where I speak about my life and how creativity has always been there for me. Survival has been a word I have lived with, creativity and how it rebalanced my emotions, my brain has had a significant impact on my journey through my life for my well being.

Doing the podcast was interesting for me, to explain my story and how I hope to ignite others to be with and in creativity for their own well being, I ignite my life through my attachment to self creativity. I talk about my book - Surfacing to Self (soon to be published) and I talk about, why and how this book has come together, why it’s important to all creatives, the content it holds and it’s power to balance self.

I hope you will listen to the podcast to learn more, and become a believer in how important creativity is to our daily life. Please visit The Next 100 Days Podcast for more wonderful conversations.
